June is national men's health month... and while it is appropriate to promote awareness and care of uniquely male/Urological diseases, it is even more important to emphasize the general health and well-being of men. The greatest and most immediate risks for them come by way of obesity and metabolic syndrome, which are directly correlated to diabetes and heart disease. Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome are also associated with greater incidence of specifically male/Urological conditions: erectile dysfunction, infertility, prostate cancer and lower urinary tract symptoms (perhaps erroneously attributed to prostate enlargement alone).
